Radar Logbook - 2nd Edition
This tabulated logbook is designed for radar recording. It provides guidance on logbook completion together with an example of a correctly completed operational log.
Produced in accordance with:
- SOLAS Chapter V, Regulations 19.2.3 and 19.2.4 - Carriage requirements for radar installations
- ISM Code Sections 7, 10.1, 10.2 and 11 to demonstrate radar operability, defect control and navigational records
- IMO Resolution MSC.192(79) - 'Revised recommendation on performance standards for radar equipment'
This radar logbook is divided into two parts. Part 1 is for recording the occasions on which the set is used and the conditions existing at the time. Part 2 is for recording results obtained on various targets, for comparison and future guidance. A few pages of PPI blanks are included so that important radar pictures or phenomena may be permanently recorded. Also included is an explanation of the use of the log and notes on radar phenomena.
