This book contains practical guidance on the activities undertaken by anchor handlers and platform ships. It considers the changes in the working environment and the ships employed since publication of the first edition in 1991. The text is supported by 100 colour photos and 15 diagrams.

This revised edition retains chapters on ship handling, the carriage of cargo, working with semi-submersibles and jack-ups, towing and emergencies and adds new chapters on operations, accidents and safety. The author draws on his experience as a Master on North Sea supply vessels to describe offshore techniques and the major hazards to offshore mobile drilling units, jack-ups and semi-submersibles.
